Shopfront glass is toughened or laminated, never float, and must carry a kitemark in a critical location. Panes are ordered to the surveyed size, so a same-day swap is rarely possible on anything large.
Work in a trading unit has to fit around trading. Where the frontage cannot be out of action during opening hours, installation is booked overnight or on a closed day and the premises left secure at every stage.
